What To Do When Something Happens

There are three ways I can respond to situations.

  1. As if things just happen and my response to them is out of my control.
  2. As if things just happen and my response to them is based on how other people think I should respond, on how other people have responded in the past, on what society thinks is the “appropriate” response in each situation.
  3. As if things just happen and I can choose what I will focus on, I can influence the way I respond, I decide what it all means, I mold my own beliefs and create the life of MY dreams.

Do you have a bad habit of questioning your decisions or thinking worrying thoughts about yourself or your life? I know I sometimes catch myself saying, “What’s the point!” OR “How on earth am I going to get this thing that I want!”

A few years ago I was listening to an interview with Dan Kuschell creator of Millionaires Mindset®. He trains people in direct marketing, and is also the author of: A Champion Vision. Part of the foundation Dan used to get to where he is now was by asking 3 powerful questions of himself each day. He says that he doesn’t even recall where he learned these three questions. He knows he didn’t invent them. What he does share is that answering these three questions became something incredibly powerful for him in only a handful of months.

Dan says he became a passion magnet because he answered these three questions on a daily basis. He challenges people to do this for as little as two weeks and then watch what happens to you as a person and how opportunities start popping up, things mentally, physically, socially, spiritually and financially.

Dan admitted for the most of his life he had attracted the wrong kind of person as a mate. What ended up happening is by starting this process, he actually attracted the angel into his life, who today is his wife. Roughly in about 90 days of starting to apply these principles to his business, he earned more in three months than he had the previous year.

It’s just amazing what these three questions can do. Now over the years I’ve done this several times for myself and I’m committed to doing it again for the next 30 days—simply because I know new habits can change our mindset (and our vibration) FOREVER. They can re-wire our brains in as little as one month—and when you’re really ready, it can even happen overnight! The outcomes for me have been exceptional. The Easy Way To Get Out Of A Rut

WHEN I’M STUCK IN A RUT … I just have to relax.

That’s not the best time to try and fix anything, that’s not the best time to make big decisions, that’s not the best time to have a meaningful conversation, that’s not the best time to do business, that’s not the best time to get in the car and drive and it certainly isn’t the best time to vent. 

The quality of my life seems to be determined more by how much I can chill out during the challenging times, stay as quiet as possible, affirm that it will pass soon enough, remember that it’s all worked out before, believe I’m being looked after and trust that better things are coming.

ENJOY THE CONTRAST … expansion is on the way.

Don’t expect to stop something unpleasant in mid-flight. Attracting contrast doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. Enjoying a happy moment doesn’t mean you’re good.  It’s just an “indication” of where your energy is currently at, that’s all! Just ride out the energy until it passes – and it will soon enough.

When I’m flying high, I always know what to do next. I feel clear. I feel sure. I feel a confident. I feel alive. I feel powerful. Wild horses couldn’t stop me from heading in the direction that feels really good in that moment, but until I’m there, I need a reminder of what works best for me.

HERE’S WHAT HELPS ME GET OUT OF A RUT … QUICKLY.

  1. Stop what I’m doing.
  2. Breathe …………………………….. Breathe deeper ……………………………. Breathe deeper again.
  3. Change my focus, change what I’ve been thinking about, change from sitting, to standing or lying down, change the speed I’m walking, change my posture, change my clothes, change my proximity to the problem too.
  4. That usually does it for me. Life was meant to be easy.

WHEN YOU FEEL SOME RESISTANCE LIFT … That’s the time to celebrate. That’s the time to say your affirmations. That’s the time to write. That’s the time to share your story. That’s the time to make love. That’s the time to DO whatever your bliss is calling you to do. The energy that flows freely during this time achieves a thousand times more powerful than at any other. I Use Energy Wisely

I’M NOT NORMAL … it’s true!

I don’t waste energy complaining about what’s broken. I use it wisely to notice what’s working.
I don’t talk badly about myself or others. I talk about our better qualities instead.
I don’t expect the worst. I imagine the best.
I don’t care to listen endlessly to the problems. But I DO care to seek eternal solutions.
I don’t expect you to change so I can be happy. I find happiness anyway, no matter how you are.
I don’t let an issue come between me and my heart. I wait until my heart is open again and then resolve it with love.
I don’t speak in haste. I choose to speak when I’ve taken time to find clarity first.
I don’t allow people to put me down. I get out of their way until they pick themselves up.
I don’t create extra drama in my life. I know I can turn on the TV and watch it there.

The Only Thing That Matters

THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS WHERE I AM RIGHT NOW

I’m not a failure, I’m just learning more.

Nothing is wrong, in fact everything is going perfectly right.

I don’t hate my ex, I just got clearer about the relationship I really want.

I’m not always disconnected, quite often I feel the fullness of “all that is”.

I don’t have to focus on the worst, I can keep reaching for something so much better.

I don’t have to hold onto the things that cause pain, I can relax and allow things that bring relief.

This situation doesn’t need to cause me despair, I can activate the parts that thrill me beyond description.

There Are Things I Just Won’t Do

THERE ARE THINGS I JUST WON’T DO

  • If a thought doesn’t make me happy … then I won’t think it!
  • If a conversation doesn’t sound uplifting … then I won’t get involved in it!
  • If a news story doesn’t feel good … then I won’t watch it!
  • If a belief limits my potential … then I stop repeating it!

The things that I focus on, get bigger, so I choose to focus on how I want my life to be instead.

How To Recover From An Upset

AS I TRAIN MYSELF TO FOCUS ON THINGS THAT FEEL BETTER EACH DAY … when something does happen that upsets my applecart, I bounce back really quickly.

I don’t cry over the spilled fruit,
I don’t go on a search and destroy mission to find out who did it and why,
I don’t publish a what to do when your boyfriend doesn’t like your melons facebook page.
I don’t give it a second thought at all.

I just make juice out of the bruised fruit, find an exciting new place to park my cart or go off to play in the orchard instead 😉

It’s All About ME!

Who really has the power?

  • When I assume someone else is causing a problem – it’s really me!
  • When I think someone else should change – it’s really me that needs to change my attitude!
  • When I focus on what someone else has done wrong – it’s really me who’s focusing in the wrong direction!
  • When I believe someone’s stopping me from having what I want – it’s really me preventing good things from coming!

Everything starts, continues and ends with the attention I keep giving to it – period!

P.S. This is such a liberating perspective, and when I finally GOT IT, one of the most significant relationships of my life transformed in a miraculous way overnight. I love it when things like that happen. But I was ready. You can’t fake or force a transformation. You can only be open and welcoming and willing and “allow it to be”.
